✏️ What your child will do

Your child looks at the big letters I and J, follows the numbered red arrows to learn the stroke order, then traces two rows of dotted I and two rows of dotted J. The pictures (ice-cream and jug) link each letter to its sound.

🎯 What your child will learn

  • Writing capital I and J in the correct stroke order
  • Letter sounds: I for Ice-cream, J for Jug
  • Pencil control on straight and curved strokes
  • Matching letters with pictures

👣 How to do it

  1. Say 'I for Ice-cream' and 'J for Jug' together.
  2. Trace the big letters with a finger, following arrows 1, 2, 3.
  3. Trace the first letter in each row (it shows the arrows) with a pencil.
  4. Trace the rest of the dotted letters in both rows.
  5. Repeat for the second letter.
  6. Colour the pictures if you like.

💡 Tips for parents

  • Ask your child to find things at home that start with I or J.
  • Watch the stroke order – starting from the top makes writing faster later.
  • Keep it to 10–15 minutes – stop while your child is still enjoying it.
